About Advising at Edwards
Jayhawk Academic Advising (JAA) is more than course planning—it’s about building meaningful relationships that honor each student’s unique journey. Advisors provide proactive, personalized support, reinforcing calendars and deadlines while maintaining clear communication. Guided by Appreciative Advising and aligned with KU IRISE Student Success Goals. The aim is to create a culture of care, collaboration, and empowerment where students thrive at KU and beyond.
Appointments
Current Students
Current students have an advisor assigned to them. Edwards academic advisors divide their time between virtual, Edwards, and Lawrence availability, so while you can drop in on an advisor using the Edwards schedules below, making an appointment is highly encouraged to ensure your advisor is there when you're ready.
Academic Advisors use Navigate360 to schedule appointments with students. To schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor, please click on the blue button below to download the Navigate360 app or get linked to the website.
Prospective Students
To meet with an advisor, students should follow the process to apply to KU. Once you have been accepted, you will receive an invitation to schedule a technology appointment. At this technology appointment, you will be introduced to the important software that will help you be successful as a KU student. At the end of the appointment, you will schedule an appointment with your new advisor. If you have gotten lost or have questions through your onboarding process, please reach out to the Student Services Manager at the contact information listed in the sidebar of this page.
Returning Students
Returning students must reapply to KU to reenter the onboarding process. Just in case your previous advisor is no longer employed with KU, don't rely solely on emailing them for an appointment. If you have gotten lost or have questions through your onboarding process, please reach out to the Student Services Manager at the contact information listed in the sidebar of this page.
Drop-In Advising
Drop-in advising is a service available to KU undergraduate students. This style of advising does not require an appointment. Students are welcome to meet with an advisor virtually via Zoom during the designated drop-in periods each week. If you are on campus and wish to access a private space to participate in drop-in advising, please contact the Student Services Manager.
To attend a drop-in advising session virtually, join the virtual line and follow the prompts to be paired with an advisor that can address your questions.
Not getting text notifications when you join the queue? You may have opted out. To opt back in, text "START" to (785) 453-6244. This is how your advisor will let you know they are ready to see you or contact you for questions!
