Take the Bus to the Lawrence Campus!

Students who live in either Lawrence or the KC Metro area but are taking classes or accessing services at the other campus can hop on the K-10 Connector bus! This is a free bus provided by RideKC to connect the Lawrence Campus to Edwards Campus and Johnson County Community College (JCCC). Students can park their vehicles at the Edwards Campus or JCCC to travel for free to the Lawrence Campus and back.

Download the Transit app to plan your trip and receive real-time updates to the bus schedule. The Transit app is the official app of RideKC, so it can be used to plan trips within the larger KC Metro bus system and the KC Streetcar.

Once you have arrived in Lawrence, the Lawrence Campus and the City of Lawrence work together to provide transportation throughout campus and the wider Lawrence community. Transportation costs are included in your student fees, so all rides are free of charge!

Evening Classes: The K-10 Connector bus does not run after 6pm, so alternative transportation for evening classes is needed (ask around your classmates and start a carpool!). Bus service for the summer term and school breaks is also greatly reduced, so please plan accordingly. The K-10 Connector bus does not run on weekends. See the schedule for details.

Lawrence Campus Parking 101

Students, staff, faculty, and guests must pay to park in the Lawrence Campus’s many parking lots and garages. If you predict that you will be parking on the Lawrence campus regularly, it might be beneficial to purchase a parking pass. Parking passes levels are assigned based on your class (freshmen through seniors and graduate students). If you are only planning to park on the Lawrence Campus for a day, however, a daily permit is available. You are also able to pay onsite using payment kiosks or by using the ParkMobile App.

All Lawrence campus parking spots must have their rear license plate visible from the driving lane; do not back your vehicle into a parking spot.

If you are traveling to the Lawrence Campus to use the Watkins Health Clinic, there is free parking outside the building for patients. If those free spots are full and you receive a ticket for parking nearby, please notify the Watkins Health Clinic within ten days for further guidance.

Students, faculty, and staff who receive their first-ever KU parking ticket may be able to have the ticket cancelled by successfully completing a parking quiz.

Lawrence Campus Bus System

Once on the Lawrence Campus, the fastest way to get from place to place is to use the bus system! Together, the City of Lawrence and University of Kansas provide safe, convenient, affordable, reliable and responsive public transportation services to enhance the social, economic and environmental well-being of the community.
